Header and Body
The healthcare sector is the largest employer in New York State, representing over 14% of total employment statewide. However, hospitals and other healthcare providers struggle to fill jobs and the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated healthcare workforce shortages and exposed vulnerabilities across the continuum of care. More than ever, healthcare is now competing with other employment sectors for the same workers, especially as healthcare workers experience stress and burnout.
This event provides an opportunity to respond to, and harness, the workforce needs in the healthcare sector and match those needs with support and training for a diverse workforce of the future. The event will include the public announcement of new research on the nursing shortage in New York state. Mother Cabrini Health Foundation is committed to improving the health of vulnerable New Yorkers by supporting the development of a skilled and diverse healthcare workforce. Join us June 12th as we seek to improve access to care, quality of care, and the implementation of innovative and effective healthcare workforce initiatives.
