About this event:

Join keynote speaker Mark Cuban, policymakers, advocates, employers, and healthcare purchasers to discuss actionable tactics to change the playbook on hospital pricing, including strategies to eliminate healthcare middlemen and partner with others to achieve affordable and equitable care.

Changing the Playbook on Hospital Prices, a one-day conference with policymakers, employers, purchasers, and others, explores actionable strategies for lowering the cost of hospital care. Attendees will hear from leaders who have successfully passed price capping legislation in their states despite political obstacles. Their work will materially impact the price of hospital care.

The event will also discuss the anti-competitive contracting practices that are often utilized by hospitals to keep prices high and care out of reach, which was the focus of the Justice Department’s newly announced investigation of NewYork-Presbyterian reported on by The New York Times.

Speakers include:

  • Mark Cuban, Co-founder of Cost Plus Drugs
  • Ivana Krajcinovic, PhD, Vice President of Healthcare Delivery, UNITE HERE HEALTH
  • Gloria Sachdev, PharmD, Indiana Secretary of Health and Family Services
  • Mark Hage, Trust Administrator, Vermont Education Health Initiative, and Director of Benefits, Vermont-National Education Association
  • More to be announced

Alongside networking opportunities, participants will learn about:

  • State and local policy solutions
  • Employer purchasing strategies
  • How employers, unions, and advocates can work together to achieve maximum results
