Header and Body
Technology has unlocked growth, collaboration, and improvement among the State’s agencies and departments. Realistically, those areas also still face daily challenges like limited resources, communication breakdowns, and security concerns. On a positive note, New York’s State and local governments can and are willing to take advantage of technological innovation and modernization options. Steps have been made and continue to help streamline government, cut inefficiencies, and enhance effectiveness by evaluating ways to cut government red tape, making it easier to do business. This event brings together technology focused public-sector professionals and leading industry partners, who will connect on innovative approaches and discuss ways to encourage the development of new technologies.

The Innovation Agenda
Modernization is crucial if NY wants to keep up with the times. Governor Hochul's agenda is to expand cutting-edge technology development in the Empire State. There have been commitments and investments to boost our Ai efforts through Empire Ai, alongside an agreement to promote safety and ethical use. From the Green CHIPS legislation, Life Science Initiative, NY CREATES, Charge Safe, Ride Safe” Battery-NY initiative, etc., we are fueling growth of the sustainability, green technology, and energy storage economies in NY. The Governor’s innovation agenda has catalyzed major public and private investments, transforming New York’s economy and creating good-paying jobs of the future. We will hear from public and private entities partnering to accelerate New York’s transformation into a hub for growth and innovation. How can we progress even faster, more efficiently?

Modernizing NY’s Infrastructure
The over $300 billion infrastructure plan invested in New York is being used to modernize mass transit systems, construct affordable housing, build new schools, promote an equitable healthcare system, and support a sustainable energy future. How is NY maximizing this investment in the State to modernize infrastructure systems, create jobs and grow the economy? What role does technology and innovation play in every aspect of New York’s infrastructure systems? What are the newest innovations we should be paying attention to, and how can an easy path to modernization be implemented within budget constraints?

Transformative Safety Solutions
Even with the latest innovations in place, the infrastructure and technology used to keep New Yorkers safe, healthy, sheltered, moving and connected is never invincible. Confronting these ever evolving challenges, New York agencies remain steadfast in the important mission to reduce threats. We will discuss the shifting landscape of cybersecurity threats - both from domestic and foreign actors - and the radicalizing impact of social media. We'll also talk about working together to build a more resilient and collaborative cyber infrastructure in New York.

Innovative Tools to Help All New Yorkers
New York is driving high-impact interventions to modernize communities to make them safer, smarter, healthier and to make it possible to increase economic re-development. What is NY doing to put the focus on people when designing new services and products to ensure maximum accessibility? From telemedicine to remote education -- access to broadband is a good start but the issues of equitable use and accessibility comes into play across all services. What will governments do to create full engagement opportunities for all? How will technologies support this endeavor? How will we make those technologies accessible and safe? We will discuss ways to impact all of our communities through the use of technology and innovation that help develop NY's economy and living situations.
